Supported data formats & plot field selection

Use auto to plot a plain number or a value named A0, value, analog or adc in JSON or key-value text. Examples: 512, A0:512, {"A0":512}. To select another reading, enter its exact field name, such as temperature. Each reading should end with a newline. Text messages remain visible in the serial monitor. The range setting scales the indicator and the chart baseline; received values are preserved.

Connect your hardware

  1. Open in a supported browser

Use desktop Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Web Serial requires a secure context: serve this page over HTTPS or from localhost. Browser support and permissions are checked when you connect.

  2. Prepare the board

Connect your Arduino or ESP32 with a USB data cable. Upload a sketch that prints serial data, then close the Arduino IDE Serial Monitor and any other app using the port.

  3. Match the serial settings

Choose the baud rate used by your sketch, such as Serial.begin(115200). Use a maximum of 1023 for a 10-bit reading, or 4095 for a 12-bit reading. Select the range that matches your actual firmware.

  4. Select the port and inspect your stream

Click Connect board and select the correct USB serial port. All text appears in the monitor. Numeric lines and supported fields appear in the chart. Enter a field name to plot a specific channel.

The board profile is a display preset. This page does not upload firmware or send automatic board commands. Sending a command transmits only the text and line ending you select. Opening a serial port may reset some boards.

Each new connection or demo starts a fresh capture. Export first if needed. The monitor retains up to 2,000 entries (1 million characters), displays the latest 500 matching entries, and exports all retained entries. CSV retains up to 10,000 numeric samples. Pause view keeps receiving data. Clear log preserves counters and any unfinished incoming line. Field changes and Clear plot start a new numeric capture.
