About this robot
CSIR reports a prototype tested in Western Cape vineyards with Stellenbosch University. Its sensing payload supports grape-yield estimation and plant-health monitoring, while sensor fusion enables autonomous navigation, path planning, obstacle avoidance and row following. The platform was developed as part of a research programme in viticulture robotics.
