About this robot
The UNSJ prototype combines disease assessment with a motorized arm whose configuration adapts to the tree being treated. Its nozzles target pesticides or fertilizers to relevant canopy areas; the robot was mounted on an ATV for experiments. The university reported continuing field comparisons in May 2026 while seeking an industrial partner for a commercial version.
