Research robot for selectively picking strawberries from elevated growing beds.
About this robot
NARO’s 2010 development used fruit colour to select ripe strawberries and gripped and cut the fruit stalk. It worked with a moving platform and hanging cultivation beds. Human pickers were expected to collect fruit missed by the robot the following morning.
