Autonomous research platform for collecting information within kiwifruit orchards.
About this robot
The Zespri-funded Waikato prototype was shown at Fieldays in 2021. It uses sensors for orchard navigation and data capture, with research initially targeting flower counts and canopy cover. Further crop-estimation and pest-monitoring applications were described as planned work.
